DreamBeat Korea expanded into the publishing business with the
musical works of M&F's Sung-Woo Cho, one of the top film music composers
in Korea. DreamBeat Korea has taken charge of all of Cho's original
soundtracks including, <Take Care of My Cat>, <One Fine Spring
Day>, <Say Yes>, <Last Present>, <I Wish I Had a Wife,
Too>, and <Asako in Ruby Shoes>. One of Cho's works, <Last
Present>, the theme song of the film, <Last Present>, became a
media sensation when the internationally renowned New Age band,
Secret Garden, performed the song and included it in their first Title,
<Dreamcatcher> in December 2001. <Dreamcatcher> was released and
distributed throughout the United States, resulting in copyright royalties
being paid to DreamBeat Korea for the soundtrack, <Last Present>.
DreamBeat Korea is the first Korean publishing company to collect copyright
royalties from the United States for a pop genre Title.
To further
secure its position in music publishing in Korea, DreamBeat Korea also
entered into a partnership agreement with HoriPro, Japan's preeminent
entertainment management and music publishing company. DreamBeat Korea will
manage HoriPro's copyright administration in Korea. Currently, HoriPro
controls approximately 4,000 Japanese catalog Titles and 10,000 American
catalog Titles.
